Heather Young, Celebrant
Celebration of Life
I firmly believe that a funeral service should be the celebration of a life. I am an independent celebrant whose passion is to deliver exactly that.
There are no longer any rights or wrongs for a service, and it can be written to completely sum up the essence of the person who has passed. It can be serious or light-hearted, with a religious tone or completely non-religious, simple or more structured, with a dress code or no dress code.
The options are endless, and the quirkier, the better. As long as everything within is respectful, there are no boundaries!
Get in touch today to find out how I can help you create a truly meaningful farewell. Whether you’re looking for something formal or relaxed, simple or bespoke, I’ll work with you to craft a heartfelt celebration of life that truly honours your loved one.
About me
I completed my training with the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants and am a member of the Fellowship.
I am fully insured and pride myself on always delivering the best service.
I am fully experienced with all aspects of death and bereavement, having worked for several years for Co-op Funeralcare, learning all aspects of the business. I was very sad to leave, but I decided that delivering funeral services to a high standard is where my talents lie and is worthwhile and fulfilling.
Through my years, I have seen the process from the very start, from taking a deceased into our care, caring for them and then participating on the day of the funeral. Because of this, I can reassure families about what will happen to their loved one.
I am calm, compassionate, and show empathy, and I always treat the people I meet as individuals. No ‘one size fits all’ approach!

“Good morning Heather, Gina and I would like to say a very very BIG thank you for your wonderful service and how you conducted it all, saying such nice comforting words. These times are not very happy ones, and perhaps not supposed to be, but it was made all the nicer by yourself. Thank you again on behalf of us all.” ”
Kind regards Evelyn.
HOW IT WORKS
I work closely with Funeral Directors for referrals but am also happy to support families directly.
